I would love to see that business plan(s). It's such a huge bet. I mean I'm happy it's happening (except the circus themed place :-) but surely not all these places are going to succeed. I wonder if that's part of the plan.
Make sure to check out the upcoming ABL meeting (Joe Englert will be there). He has opened many places in the District. Not all of these are still in business (I think the vast majority are). I think he's just throwing a lot of stuff out there to see what floats. Show Bar is definitely the most out there concept, but I'm very interested to see how it turns out.
There are local listservs (hsms & anc6a) where emails have been sent out regarding these establishments. There have also been various meetings where these restaurants and taverns were discussed. There will be a meeting held June 21st to discuss 4 of these applications. There is more info on these businesses available on this site (just use the search bar at the top of the screen & search for Englert, or Humphries).

How do you know the specific bars and concepts he has planned?
From the article in WBJ, it doesn't say much more than a single address.
Thanks. <;
