Foreclosure Rescue Scams

Saturday's Wahington Post featured this very nice article on scams that victimize frightened homeowners who fall behind on their mortgage payments. The article references a recently released report from the National Consumer Law Center. The report, entitled "Dreams Foreclosed: The Rampant Theft of American's Homes Through Equity-Stripping Foreclosure Scams," is available here. (As a side note, the DC metro area currently has a very low foreclosure rate because most people know they can sell their homes for obscene amounts of money before foreclosure could actually occur).
