taste of jamaica used to be on 12th Street NE in Brookland. Like Caribbean Best, the food is average. Hopefully they will strive to do better on H Street.
I still think Caribbean Best is better than Tropicana (just with a less catchy name). I'd much rather see a Caribbean place, than another sketchy wing joint.
Tropicana is really genuine Jamaican food. It's good, I love it and we eat there all the time. If you go to the one on 7th and Florida near Howard Hospital your bound to see a celeb. I've met Russell simmons, Leon the actor, Sean paul and even Ms. parker...Mo'nique. It's just da bomb. Just thinking I want some Oxtails or some CurryShrimp now. MMMM.
