H Street in the Tax Sale (Brochure)

I was looking over the list of properties scheduled for the July 11th tax sale. I know the sale already happened, but I was wondering how many H street properties were listed. The tax sale is not some much a sale of the property as it is a sale of the debt. The process for purchasers of the debt to actually take possession of the property is long and difficult. Most properties "sold" at the tax sale never actually change hands. I just thought it was interesting to see who hasn't been paying their property taxes on H Street. I wonder how many of these places are vacant & run down. Here's a quick list of all the places on the brochure:

Anwar has been on that list nearly every year.

The much more entertaining item on that list is one Harold Brazil.

That is not exactly a surprise. But still, when you place yourself in a leadership position & purport to want to do what is the best for the community shouldn't you at least pay your taxes? These guys should both be ashamed.

That is something that Harold Brazil is on that list! I went to the tax sale last year. It is interesting how many properties on H street and in Trinidad were swiped up by just a handful of developers. I remember there were three guys with deep pockets who were outbidding everyone. I guess this bodes well for the potential in the area.
