Ok, here is a more recent shot of a building I posted a photo of last week. This is 1224 H Street with its new paint job. Eventually, this is going to be the Bee-Hive, which I believe will serve Mexican food & possibly have a beer garden out back. Below please find a before shot of 1224.
This is 1212 H Street (also recently repainted). This is going to house The Red & The Black, which will serve up Lousiana style food with live music.

I noticed this yesterday--very exciting!
Any idea of when they are scheduled to open?
I'm not entirely sure what the timeline for openings is, but I have heard that we will be be seeing more new paint on the exteriors of some H Street buildings in the very near future. As I understand it, the plan is for roll-out of the Joe Englert tavern/restaurants. Even so, opening that many places over a two year span would lead to at least one new place every few months. As a side note, The H Street Martini Lounge still has its grand opening scheduled for October 1st.
