Do you have other photos from the festival? If so, would you mind posting them somewhere? Unfortunately, I was out of town at a wedding last weekend so I couldn't make it.

I went to the Barricks Row and the H street festival. There was a very big difference in the "give a ways". For example, the National Capital Bank was giving way big cute plastic piggy banks on 8th Street, while PNC on H street, wanted $25 and a opened account for the same piggy bank in blue.Lots more artist, pet food and even a leash giveways..

It is true that the H Street festival has a long way to go before itcan compete with festivals like the one on Barracks Row. At the same time, this year's H Street festival was a huge improvement over what I remember from the past. I hope that we can get ideas from these other festivals about how to improve, but I also think that this year's celebration was a giant step in the right direction.

Omar, I am still in the process of uploading my photos from the festival. You can go to flicker and do a double tag search for any photos tagged "frozentropics" & festival. Alternately, you can click on any photo posted on frozentropics & that should take you to my flickr photo stream. From my photo stream you can see all of my tags. This is useful because you could click on a tag called "hstreet" to see photos of H Street (same for "montello," "beehive," "ticgardenclub," ect.). If you do a search for "englert" you should get most of my photos for spaces associated w/Joe Englert. There are lots of tags. These are just a few examples.

Awesome! Thanks for the info, Elise. I'll check it over the weekend.

I agree that we should focus on how much the H St. Festival improves each year and not get caught up in comparing it to the one on Barracks Row just yet. I believe we'll do much better once more businesses replace the abandoned buildings that plague the corridor today.

I think that the banks and merchants could do a lot more to support the festival. We customers need to encourage merchants to support the H street festival. Are you listening Results customers?
