You should consider donating the pictures and text from this blog to the Washington Historical Society (obviously, not in such a way that it would interfere with your blogging). Your pictures, text, and the comments all reveal a dynamic and active neighborhood in flux. That's important to all of us today because we live here. But it will also be important and interesting to folks in the future who study our city.
I don't know about the manner in which such a donation would be made (on CD-ROM? Printed out text and pictures?). But it would be tragic for all this history and discussion to be lost someday.
The warmer weather in Spring might make a walk down H Street a more attractive option (you could check out a few of the new places that are/will open). Phish Tea serves brunch on Sundays starting at 11am (though I advise showing up around noon because they sometimes run a little late), & R&B Coffee has both Saturday & Sunday hours.
It looks like Urban Legends might be closing. There is a sale going on, and a for lease sign in the window. I didn't stop in and ask though as I was doing other things.
That's too bad. They have had a sale sign up for a while, but I haven't seen a "for rent" sign. Maybe a different business plan would be in order for that space.

What kind of business is mason's?
barber shop. you should walk the street.
Mason's was all decorated for the holidays. When the weather is warmer you can buy bar-b-que from a stand next door to Mason's.
I have a job, I don't need to walk the street dude.lol
