This seems fairly elemental: Eliminate double-parking from H street through agressive enforcement and towing. In Boston if leave your car double-parked downtown on Newbury street or near Fenway you can pretty much guarantee you're going to pick your car up at an impound lot. I don't think the parking situation on H is bad at all. You can always find a spot if you circle the block or go up a block or two. People are just lazy, and want to part exactly in front of where they're going. That's not going to happen in any major city.

I fully agree about enforcement and towing. If only we could get some enforcement on Sundays, when most streets in my Hill East neighborhood are completely double-parked because of churchgoers who park pretty much wherever they want.

Anon, you should have a gander at this continuing saga in Logan Circle.
