Rock & Hotel Update
It sounds like the Rock & Roll Hotel (1300 block of H Street) may be looking to open its doors sometime in March/April (last minute stuff is hard to predict). I'm told that they will do some dj nights, but it's going to be about 95% live music for the entertainment. They are building some music practice rooms (I'm told that it's hard to find space like that in the city). Look to munch on a variety of Middle Eastern tapas when you stop by with an appetite. Also, the kitchen is reportedly huge & will be doing the prep work for many of the other Englert associated places on H Street. This is significant because it could mean faster & smoother openings for the other places (since kitchens can take time to get in order).

Strange... a couple of months ago the bartender at the Argonaut believed that the Rock and Roll Hotel would be the last of all the establishments to open. He thought the Beehive or the Pug would be next, but those seemed to have slown down for some reason. Does anyone know of any other 'scheduled openings' for the Englert 8?
For what it's worth, I spoke to a business partner of Englert's at the Argonaut the other night. He said The Pug was totally ready to go inside, just waiting on a DC inspection. That of course could be a couple weeks. He also said they would have the second floor of the Argonaut and outdoor seating there open in the spring.
The scheduled openings for all of the other establishments Will be In March or April, my understanding is that a couple of the smaller places like The Red & Black and the Behive will open before Rock & Roll Hotel. You have to relize that you allways have unexpected issues to deal with so it's hard to have a set date. The Argonaut's patio should be ready by spring, but the upstair is a work in progress. We are looking at winter or spring of 2007. Hopefully we will have the funds to open it earlier, our main focus will be on the patio first. I would like to thank everyone for supporting the Argonaut. If you have any Questions or comments feel free to email www.info@argonautdc.com.
