Frozen Tropics in the Express
Frozen Tropics once again made the Express' Blog Log last week for the mention of the U.S. Beef building in the wholesale food district (Florida Market).
Could someone remind me of the hours for the wholesale market, Young's Deli and Litteri's? Are these places that would be difficult to visit on weekdays after work? Thanks.
Off topic, but has there been any update concerning the opening of the Red and the Black? According to a previous post (4/14) it should be opening this Friday, but I somehow doubt that, as there hasn't been any mention of it lately.
No weekday after work hours. These places open early and close early. Most of the places are closed on Sunday. The best time to go is before 3pm on a Saturday (and Litteri's may close at 2pm, I'm not sure). The actual DC farmer's market is open on Sundays, but they close early (maybe 3pm).
I don't know about the Red & the Black. All I can say is that opening estimates are just that...estimates (ever try estimating how long it would take you to finish redoing your back bedroom?). I think it could probably happen anyday, they are probably just wrapping up loose ends.
Also off topic, but I just wanted to add another plug for Sonny's Plumbing on the corner of 10th and H. The gentleman who helped me during my visit on Saturday, Erick, was awesome! After receiving a great tutorial, doing about 10 minutes of work and buying $1.59 worth of supplies, I was able to repair the leaky faucet in my master bath that's been driving me nuts for weeks now. I would definitely recommend all give Sonny's a try before heading over to one of the corporate giants. Thanks to the person who first posted info about Sonny's on Frozen Tropics a while back.
