Well, I'll second (or fourth, rather) the congratulations to Elise, then get to some off topic posting:
A sista, can - most definitely - rock a mic, as was proved last night at the Red and the Black. The show, although sadly I had to miss the last act, was excellent, and the Red and the Black was certainly up to snuff.
A few things missing -
The stage needs to be higher up if anyone in the back is going to see a thing.
Fans in the windows. Just do it.
Improved stage lighting. At one point, a large flashlight augmented the lighting.
More bump. The MC kept asking to get the sound up, until the sound guy had to tell her that that's all they had.
Anyway, this could be a big step of H coming into its own, and it was very encouraging.
