No matter how good it is on the inside, the Ohio Restaurant has THE MOST un-inviting exterior of any eatery place on H st.

They spent 535K buying the place, maybe they can spend another thousand to make the outside attractive to potential customers.

They have been making steady improvements. The new windows do look a great deal better that what was there before.

Glad to see it. Now the Atlas District web site needs to add them. I think I'll write a request.
I wanted to smack my friends when they essentially agreed w/ the first commenter and vetoed the Ohio because it looked "scary". I don't get it. If someone wants the same boring chain places just jump on the X2 to Gallery Place/Chinatown. Personally, I think the Ohio's interior is awesome and somebody should use it as a film set before it's "improved" any more. Thanks for being there and being real Ohio.

Ok, it's a little intimidating. But the people are incredibly nice and the food was fabulous! I especially enjoyed the meatloaf and fried cabbage.

The people there are indeed great, and I just wanted to mention that they are also trying to attract people in the evenings. They have a liquor license, and seem to want to be a part of the bar scene as well.

Personally, I wish they would start serving Ethiopian food sooner rather than later.

Had my first meal there yesterday and I agree...the people are real friendly. The food was pretty good, too. The exterior...I don't know...under that false brick I think I saw wood. I hope the structure is brick under that.
Anyway, sent pic, blurb, etc. to the Atlas District webmaster and hopefully it'll be up there soon.
