"There were fights, bottles thrown, people shot," said D.C. Assistant Police Chief Brian K. Jordan about a fracas outside a Northeast Washington music club Monday evening that ended with two juveniles shot, two beaten and three arrested. "What this says is we have some issues with our young people . . . the way they resolve issues with fights and weapons."

We have a problem when a high-ranking police official blanketly accuses EVERY youth in the city for something a handful of people did. SOME young people resolve issues with fights and weapons, NOT all. Sigh.
I read on DCist.com today that Georgetown's ANCs requested 13 of the 23 survelliance cameras available -- I wonder if they thought about leaving any for other locations in the District? Go fig!
Cameras are always a bit controversial (mostly because they don't do much with out enforcement), but it would be ridiculous if Georgetown got 13 of the 23.

Hopefully, our ANCs have requested some of those cameras as well. It would be nice to have them on blocks where the dealers hang out.
