Here's that great
piece on H Street we heard was coming. It reads like guide book to the area so I think we can expect to see a lot more people enticed into making the pilgrimage from NW. Locals will find it handy for seeing what they haven't visited yet & also for convincing their friends from the suburbs that it really is okay to hang out on H.

Re: Streetscape/Light Rail:
The article says that the tracks will not be laid until next year...
At the Great Streets open house in the Spring, they were talking about this Fall as a start date for the streetscape improvements.
The DDOT/Great Streets websites do not list any kind of schedule for this. Anyone know what the current working timeline on streetscape improvements is (including laying light rail tracks)?
jThey haven't nailed down the final schedule yet, but based on an email to a listserv from Karina Ricks, it sounds like they might not start until spring.
Yeah, I've been wondering when the Starburst intersection work would start as well.
It was good to see the non-Englert places get equal billing in the piece.
Great press for the neighborhood's new (and not so new) places to enjoy. I too am wondering when the "streescaping" construction will get underway. Personally I think this will make a big difference for people visiting the area for the first time...much like the visual appeal of 8th stree SE, you can't help but feel more comfortable.
