VOH: Argonaut Employee Shot
The Voice of the Hill has a short piece on Luis Morales, the man shot in the eye (and seriously wounded) outside his girlfriend's home in the 600 block of 14th Place NE at 5:30 am on Saturday morning. Mr. Morales (also known as "Kee-Kay" -->Quike) had left work with a friend before breaking away to proceed to his girlfriend's. The last I heard Mr. Morales was undergoing multiple surgeries & remained in a coma. Police are asking that anyone with information regarding this crime contact the 1st District police, or call 727-9099.

It's Quike.
that really sad to hear. i only know through the argonaut but he seemed like a very exceptional guy.
This is really sad, he made us Patacones!
Can someone from the Argonaut please keep us posted as to Kee-Kay's condition? He is a great guy and is in our thoughts and prayers.
Quike is doing very well! The doctors are shocked by the progress he has made!! He is awake and talking now about how he has to dj at argo on Friday night. He has his family in town now. The Argonaut is Doing a fund raiser for him. Anyone who would like to help out can drop cash or checks by the argo!!
Thanks for the update.
Very glad to hear about his improving condition. Is there a fundraising event planned (a 'Quike night') at the Argonaut?
A fund raiser is in the works! since quike was going to start dj upstairs this friday, we are trying to find a dj for next friday to throw at party in his name.
My name is Bree and the incident took place on my front porch. I have been with Quike everyday, and it is amazing to see how much his condition has improved. He is awake and talking. Tonight he will undergo the second of what will probably be a series of surgeries, so please keep him in your thought. If anyone would like to send him their well wishes, please email me at bree4n@gmail.com, and I make sure that they get to Quike.
This is a tragedy. I hear they suspect it was kids trying to rob him, similar to many of the other juvenile crimes in the neighborhood lately. I have to say, I am appalled at the behavior of some of the children in the neighborhood (some, not all). There is seems to be a culture of violence and disrespect. Someone needs to make the parents responsible.
The "Kee-kay" thing came from a previous Argonaut posting with the phonotic pronunciation. I was just keeping with that.
