WP: Fernandes Out at Gallaudet
The Board of Trustees has voted, and Jane K. Fernandes will no longer replace I. King Jordan when he leaves office in January. Instead, the search process will be reopened. Protestors are currently disassembling their tent camp.
Wow, it is amazing the power and influence that can arise from standing ones ground. I don't know details about either side of this story. I give credit to the students and alumni who stood their ground by protesting when they felt the circumstances surrounding her appointment were improper. Freedom of Speech!!
