Real Cities Go Virtual
In another general urban interest story, Berlin has become the first city to go 3D in Google Earth. It's just the beginning (not everything is 3D yet), but it's pretty cool, and potentially useful as well. It also reminds me of the event the Happening that took place at R&B Coffee (formerly located at 1359 H Street) last February. A group called the Electric Sheep created a digital version of the coffee shop and projected it live on the wall (complete with digital attendees) during the even. There was also a guy demonstrating a wearable virtual reality suit that he had built. All of this took place during an art show featuring paintings and photographs, a breakdancing act, a fashion show, a poetry slam, and music performances.

Speaking of which, what's the deal on R&B Coffee? I had heard they were re-opening, but that was months ago.
A new coffee shop called Sova will reopen in its place. The guy is stil working on it.
