I didn't get a chance to snap a photo yet, but the building that will house the restaurant Sticky Rice now boasts a new paint job (essentially black background with the words Sticky Rice). Here's what it looked like before (when it was painted for the aborted Mexican restaurant the Beehive).
Here's what it looked like before that.
Progress, no?

Woo-hoo! Any word on when Sticky Rice is expecting to open? I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high though; I went to Rib Tip on Monday and was underwhelmed to say the least.
I won't speak ill of Sticky Rice until I try it, but I must say, I was very excited at the prospect of Mexican in the neighborhood. I'm a little dissapointed.
i love asian food! especially sushi/sashimi.
until we get an indonesian restaurant, i'm happy w/sticky rice moving to the hood.
there's already a few mexican joints on the hill. one just a few blocks from H.
imho, sticky rice is a step up from taco bell.
Looks like City Paper has met with Mr. Englert recently on his new H Street businesses. Sticky Rice is opening this Summer, possibly in June, and there's talk of an Ethiopian restaurant coming to one of Englert's H Street properties. Check it out:

Hill Rat, was it the food, the service or the decor? The first two may have been suffering because it was the first night. If the latter, yeah, maybe that could be different (my personal preference would be to take the Ohio's interior and transplant it...I like divey places) but I give them a pass for having friendly service and good food.
I had breakfast at Rib Tip and it was excellent! I really like the fact that they serve great turkey bacon.
I had breakfast from there today. Those are some awesome pancakes. I can't recall the last time I had pancakes that were that good.
