Holy crap...that passes for *news* in the WT or is it an opinion piece? I think I recognize the author's writing style in some of the Anonymous comments left in this blog ha ha ha

I'm not saying Tom Knott is a good writer, but I do think it's safe to say that his tongue was planted firmly in his cheek throughout the entire article. He thinks the ban is a bad idea and was just making fun of the proponents.

Yes, but Tom Knott's piece (os) was retarded! Are their writers paid or is more like a school newspaper set up? Urinating, well it's not that bad, it's the fresh (and fetid) shits around H St. that really get me. We should be lobbying for public toilets - other cities have them.

Though I don't exactly agree with it, I thought the piece was rather funny and its criticisms rather sharp and well-made. Good times.

While I didn't think the article was all that great, the reality is that the issue of singles on H Street and people addressing the issues, has been going on for at least 10-14 years. I myself had been involved from 2000-2003. Same with Jessica Ward and others. Earle Rand (now deceased), Roland Chavez, and ANC commissioners had been involved long before that.

Not belittling the "current" efforts, but making the point that even recent history goes beyond a couple years.

And part of the reason was the litter and the defecation and urination in alleys and on houses, and yes, the guy who would whip out his d*** in bus shelters along the corridor.
