Just a Note

I saw on DCist that outside.in has named Shaw the 2nd bloggiest neighborhood in the country. But what does outside.in say is Shaw's local obsession?
"Will H Street's historical significance as the center of the 1968 MLK assassination riots become a fleeting memory in the wake of the multi-million dollar redevelopment plan for the area?"
Curious, no?

yeah. hopefully it will become a fleeting memory.

it's a story about turning the corner.

at least for many of the new, and long time residents.

I found it funny that outside.in suggested that Shaw bloggers are obsessed with happenings on H Street (which is not located in Shaw).

actually, i did too.
but, then again, dc is pretty small.
in the larger context, we are all neighbors.

what goes on in gallery place, shaw, eckington, even the west end, is sort of integral to us in NE.

heck we could probably include virginia (ugh) in that discussion too!

and md (double ugh)....

the thing about shaw is that they blog more.

it is more of a residential community with issues that bring them together.

i think a lot of people look to H street as a beacon of hope for our 'area' of dc. i dunno.

i do know that frozentropics has gotten much more 'press play', and community followers than most other blogs in dc.

but hey, it's one site that measured the neighborhoodly activity.

i'm happy with my frozen tropics in a somewhat temperate zone. ;o)

Wasn't U St. also a center? Confusion, perhaps?

Some of the Shaw blogs do talk about H Street quite a bit. They aren't that far away, and I think (particularly on the east end) they are willing to come check us out.
