It's a start. Somebody had to have seen these guys if they were hanging out at the checkers. None of the checkers employees can offer up an id of these guys? What about other customers, that checkers is always bustling at that time of day. Im still pretty rattled that something like this could happen at the time and location when it did. That alley isn't exactly secluded. And there are pretty good sightlines into the alley from Maryland ave. not to mention the heavy traffic that going's up and down Maryland ave, 13th and 14th streets at that time of day. Hard to believe nobody saw anything. Maybe $1,000 bucks will make somebody think a little harder

Up to $1000?

What an insult. If no one is speaking now what will $1000 do? I'm floored.

it could be worse.

they could have given $599.99

Shouldn't the Checkers have a security camera so that the cops can check video. Or do I just watch too much Law & Order?

Do we know who's offering the reward? I mean if its the family that may be all they can do and we shouldn't be so quick to dismiss the amount.

When I was mugged at gunpoint in October, the two kids used my credit card at the gas station at Pennsylvania and 13th (if I remember correctly) and I asked the same thing about surveillance cameras. The police told me that many business don't have cameras because they don't want to get involved in investigations and police activity.

The mugging took also took place at 6 o'clock, during rush hour, on 11th street near Lincoln Park and nobody saw anything.

Nevermind on my previous post. It appears its the Metro PD offering the award. I do wonder how they determine which crimes will offer rewards and which ones don't - and for how much? Do they have an annual set aside for "Reward Money" and when it runs out it's out? Just curious, not being critical - $1000 is certainly a start.

can citizens create a matching award? how would we go about doing that?

If citizens can contribute to the reward I would be more than willing to give. I am completely digusted by this crime. If the victim's neighbors express more outrage and contribute to the reward to find her attacker I think it may make an impact. I will follow up with the Police Department tomorrow and post information on IF or HOW citizens may contribute.

I'd be willing to pitch in for a reward, too.

I'm disheartened by the descriptions available... there are at least ten people on my bus that fit those every day. I too was hoping for some footage from Checkers...

i too will contribute.

how could i not?!
