There have been several articles with references to/about Elise.

She's gaining mythological proportions!

The blog is an easy means for reporters to make contact with someone in the neighborhood who watches what goes on on H Street.

Go Inked Go...

While you're grabing a bite on H Street this weekend check out the 1200 Block of G Street's Yard Sale. It reported to be a multihousehold event on Saturday June 2nd and Sunday June 3rd 10:00am until 4:00pm with lots of cool stuff priced to move. Weather permitting!

Any news on when Sticky Rice is opening? I think the last I heard they were supposed to be opening Mid-June, or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

That was the goal, I think...but it's looking like wishful thinking at this point.

I walked past Sticky Rice last night, and they haven't made any more progress inside than they had three weeks ago. All of their ductwork is lying in a pile near the front door, there is not yet a back wall, and the floors and stairs are the only completed structures visible inside.

At this point, I'm thinking we'll see Granville Moore's by late June (they were shooting for the end of May) and Sticky Rice by early August.

Assuming, of course, the weather and other construction impediments cooperate...

Due to the byzantine nature of the permits process in the District, you can easily add 6-12 months onto a new restaurant's projected opening date.
