Latest Strip Club News

Obviously, this issue is getting major media play. Here are a few of the recent articles you may have missed:
No Red-Light District (op-ed from the Washington Times) -->May 22nd
Doubting Thomas: Can the Ward 5 Council member Fend Off a Pair of Strip Clubs? (City Paper) -->May 23rd [but by the way guys, the meeting at the church was in Ivy City, not Trinidad]
Ward 5 Sex Club Up and Running, But No Booze (City Paper: City Desk) -->May 24th
[note that the Glory Hole is the other name for Siegel's business Glorious Health and Amusements]
For information about where exactly the clubs near the baseball stadium were (and what else was there and how it came to be) check out this (not an adult website) pdf from the Rainbow History Project.

Open Letter To Councilmember Thomas, Ward 5

Thanks for posting this.
It has spurred me to send an open letter as well.

Maybe we can get some grocery stores/retail from mine.

Seriously, you'd rather a strip club than another option for shopping for basics (read FOOD)?

That's kind of whacked.

Unless you make a point of shopping to the state south of DC, which people call Virginia.

Good luck to you.

Fight the fight that will pay off in years to come.

It's the smart thing to do.

oh yeah...

ask the bad, bad, bad raiding police force, the name of the 'mechanic' that was a front for drug dealers.

or not, if that's the shop in which you worked.

Let's kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Put the clubs in the Florida Market. It will increase foot traffic there at night. Certainly it will be bad business for the female prostitutes and they will move on. Drug dealers will have to move to club drugs and sell them inside. And the stores there now can continue to operate in the day.

If these are such wonderful places, why isn't Graham placing them in his ward? The fact is that they are noisey and trashy, and Graham thinks that he can bully Ward 5 residents.

If Graham supports them so much, why don't he put them in Ward 1.

Graham would prefer to keep these "wonderful" establishments in business. He likes to frequent some of these and prefers them to the Fireplace and Ramrod's men's room.
