why woudl this be bad? these clubs seem like pioneers. one day there are clubs, next day there is a basseball stadium. ok that's too simple. but don't they portend future investment in the neighborhood
your understanding of cause and effect needs some assistance. the presence of strip clubs does not attract investment...rather, it is easier for strip clubs to locate in undervalued, underpopulated areas b/c there is less resistance to their presence there, but such areas are also cheaper by square foot and easier to buy en masse for large projects like the baseball stadium. the presence of strip clubs is not a cause in that equation leading to the effect of attractiveness to capital.
frankly, there is some development going on, supposedly, near to the bladensburg/new york ave area, so it would make more sense to figure out a more community-oriented use for those semi-industrial areas than turning them into a Vegas strip-styled row of strip clubs...
Surely Ward 5 has other services of a more pertinent nature than the need for new strip clubs...
Someone was murdered last night outside of H2O in SW. If you really believe nightclubs improve an area, check out the SW waterfront on a Saturday or Sunday morning. These clubs have contributed nothing to SW, that is why the area is being redeveloped.
Such BS! What would these establishments contribute to the neighborhood? Instead of just crackheads stumbling down the block looking for a place to take a crap we'll have some horned-up deviants looking for a place to "un-load." Thanks, but no thanks. Go to PG county.

Isn't Rock'n'Roll hotel a nightclub? Isn't Red and Black a nightclub? Hmmm... maybe not all nightclubs are the same?
The Rock'nRoll hotel is a nightclub ?
but, but my ANC says it isn't. Don't tell me that they lied!
