WP: Still More Hydrants Broken

The Fire Chief''s new estimate says 25% of DC fire hydrants don't work.

The non-working hydrant directly in front of my house was replaced by WASA last week; so they are doing *something* about this). Of course, I don't know that the new one actually works.

They also mucked up the sidewalk in front of the house -- instead of a sidewalk plank, there's now a rough dried pile of asphalt that surrounds the new hydrant. Who knows when or if they'll do something with that.
