The following appeared in the new section the agenda for tonight's meeting: 1) New H Street- CT License
a. Charis Seiver
It seems likely that any previously announced business would be listed by name, or location (though I could be wrong), so I suspect this may be something new. Anyone know to what this refers?
The 6A ABL Committee is tonight from 7-9 PM at Sherwood Recreation Center (10th & G).

A quick Google search of the name "Charis Seiver" turns up information identifying him as a painter from Hyattsville, MD. Not much else out there, and the name doesn't ring a bell in conjunction with any of the known ventures already in the works.
That's all I found, and I'm not sure if that is the same person. I also think that Charis is generally a woman's name.
A CT License is issued to a tavern.
a little off topic, but Harriet Tregoning, Director, D.C. Office of Planning said today on WAMU that she had seen pictures of H Street's ACTUAL streetcars being ACTUALLY tested in Prague.
So they really are real!
btw, she also talks about florida market redevelopment.
you can listen to it here: http://www.wamu.org/programs/kn/07/07/16.php#16564
Yes, a CT license is for a tavern, but I don't think this is for any of the already anticipated spots, so I'm curious what it will cover.

How far down H Street with the streetcars run? Hopefully continue a bit down Benning Rd.
All the way to the Minn. ave station.
Hey, I removed a few comments because it wasn't entirely clear that the information (readily available to the public elsewhere online) related to the person applying for the CT license. And since the information might be something that a person might prefer to keep private, and that you would not want associated with you if it wasn't really about you, I'm just going to remove the comments in the interest of sparing any innocent parties from an accidental smearing.
Just wanted to give you all an update as I'm on the ABL committee and heard the presentation last night.
Its for a brand new bar that will likely be located on the block of the RR Hotel. It will be small, two floors, and serve crepes, croissants, and bar food late at night, in addition to drinks of course. It will have a french theme.
The owner has 13 years experience in the business and seems very dedicated to making it work. She's even moving to the neighborhood in the coming months. She left a great impression and I'm very excited about the new addition to the neighborhood, especially because it looks to have a great menu and will be a nice dinner option.
We voted to not protest the license. She said she's realistically planning on opening in January or February.
On another note, does anyone have the latest on the opening of par bar? Haven't heard about it recently.
Thanks for the update JM, it sounds very cool.
