JM has left a new comment on your post "New CT License on 6A ABL Agenda":
Just wanted to give you all an update as I'm on the ABL committee and heard the presentation last night.
Its for a brand new bar that will likely be located on the block of the RR Hotel. It will be small, two floors, and serve crepes, croissants, and bar food late at night, in addition to drinks of course. It will have a French theme.
The owner has 13 years experience in the business and seems very dedicated to making it work. She's even moving to the neighborhood in the coming months. She left a great impression and I'm very excited about the new addition to the neighborhood, especially because it looks to have a great menu and will be a nice dinner option.
We voted to not protest the license. She said she's realistically planning on opening in January or February.
So that would put this place in the 1300 block of H Street.

wow! sounds great.
as a side note, you'd think that the properties/rents on these couple of blocks of H street are starting to become a bit pricey.
i wonder when we'll start to see things move further west or east (mostly west), where properties aren't as $$.
This particular establishment is planning on purchasing the property, which I think bodes well for their long term prospects on the street, and their investment in the community.
Probably a smart business decision too given that the rents will likely increase, as will the property value, and they'll have to put a lot into restoration anyhow, might as well get to keep a bunch of that investment.
fantastic. i'm glad the board granted the license-this is another example of the kind of place we need to actively support-one with an experienced owner with a good, realistic business plan which the community can keep afloat now adn will continue to grow with the corridor. I'm also glad top see that the owner is willing to make a longer term investment in the area.
welcome!
