Shooting on Benning

The Post reports on a shooting in the 1000 block of Benning Road, but I think this may actually be the 1500 block of Benning Road (as reported on the 1D listserv) because I don't think there is a 1000 block of Benning Road NE.

    i was thinking the same thing. i was trying to think where benning crosses 10th, and then i thought maybe i was crazy and it was somewhere where benning is 10 blocks north of east capitol. then i just realized that the post doesn't like to fact-check local news, and i felt better.

    I saw the cop cars headed there last night, and they were definitely going towards the 1500 block of benning.

    And there was notice of a shooting in the 1500 block of Benning in the MPD-1D list.

    This is awful, when I moved to this area I never thought that there would be a shooting on Benning Road.

    The 1000 block of Benning Road is all the way on the other side of the Anacostia River.

    Does anyone know why H Street between 7th & 9th was completely shut off with emergency vehicles last night around 9:00? Thanks.

    About the 700-900 blocks of H Street NE:

    There was a fire in that area last night, which is why H Street was blocked off.

    The fire was at the north corner of 7th and H street, 600 block. It looked fairly big.

    The Going Out Gurus chat does suggest that Dr. G's will be open tonight. Someone sent photos of the fire, but they aren't posted yet. I had a little accident last night (sprained ankle) and so I was at the doctor's most of today, and haven't had a chance to post anything.
