Some Like It Hot...and Fresh

Salsa (the kind you eat) contest at tomorrow's H Street Farmers Market. Bring enough for sampling and you'll get a shot at winning one of three prizes up for grabs.

If you don't take home a prize this year that's just more reason to start training for next time (plus, salsa parties are fun). They've even got a salsa making demonstration from 9:30-10:30am. If salsa's not your thing you could take home some tomatoes and make one of these.

The farmers market (a producers only market) is a great place to get meats, cheese, breads, ruits, veggies, sweets, herbs, ice cream & more.
When: 9am-12pm Saturday mornings
Where: middle of the south side of the 600 block

hmmm, looks like a great pizza to me, not salsa.

Those would be pizzas. That's why I said you could make one if salsa' not your thing. My salsa photos aren't digital. Gazpacho is also nice this time of year.

i dig the way inked thinks.

seriously, the farmers market can't even compare to whole fools (intentional). the stuff there is great. the flavour is uncomparable to the stuff you get in chain stores (and yes, whole fools is a chain - under some litigation for their unorthodox practices).

if you haven't hit it yet, go for it. it's VERY small, but the quality and taste of the products is awesome.

it's kind of cool to taste a tomato the way a tomato is supposed to be tasted.

mmmmm.....

farmers market tomorrow!!

i'll be the dude in the motorhead t-shirt...

Poo Poo, I'll look for you. Did you get born again or something? What's up with all the nice nice these days? Not that I'm complaining. Even Richard mentioned that you actually made some very good well thought out points recently.

Oh, but I'm assuming that Poo Poo is Poo Poo'd (perhaps not). Maybe I'll find out tomorrow. At any rate, the market has lots of great food, even if I haven't seen ant October beens (cranberry beans) yet (it really isn't too early despite the name).

born again?!?! nuh uhUH!

i can only speak for myself, but i think the groove on your blog is ... getting better. i just like to play devil's advocate sometimes. >;) you and allan should know all about that.

i missed the marked (damnit!), but on the upside, i have a great (emphasize GREAT) contractor that showed up this a.m. to do some work on my place. you know what it's like with contractors. if they show up, you are at there whim and beckon. kind of a bummer, cuz i wanted to meet the elusive and mythical EB.

maybe next time we can catch up and you can chew me out for my rants under my *other* aliases. ;o)

seriously, you should think about doing a FT happy hour one of these days. it's be kind of cool to meet all the gangsters that read yer blog.

i can see the billboards: chill in the tropics, right home on H street (or some such).

funny. i talk to a bunch of folks that live in the area and they all read your blog. pretty cool.

maybe that's why i'm being a nice boy.. ;oP

btw, anyone need a reference for a general contractor, i've got a guy (team) that totally shows up on time, on the weekends or weekdays, and doesn't overcharge. this isn't a plug, i'm just saying...

the dude rocks, AND he's on time. he came here this morning, checked everything out, introduced me to his wife, called me back two hours later with a very reasonable quote, and will be here tomorrow, yes TOMORROW morning to fix brick, install a fence, and replace the front door.

dude rocks. anyway.....

you kinda rock too, elise.

Hey poopoo, can I get info on your contractor? If you want, you can email it to marybindc at yahoo.

yup. done deal.

he actually showed up today to make sure that all was ok. he ended up doing some extra work (for free) just to make sure that all would be well.

he did the work on sunday, and the inclement weather made him wonder if the wood fence would buckle.

he inserted some posts, and it's all good. i inspected it this p.m.

guy is good.

i'll email you after i take a shower. :o) it's hot outside and i just got home from work!

blech!

email u shortly....
