Speaking of the 1300 block, is SOVA open?

Just saw this on a listserve -- "This Thursday, September 27, 2007, from 8:00 - 9:30 AM. Councilmember Wells will reconvene the H Street NE Community Hours. This month's Office Hours will take place at the SOVA Espresso and Wine at 1359 H Street, NE...."

Just coffee for now?

SOVA is not yet open. They may be just providing space for the office hours.

Anyone taking bets on how soon SOVA drops the coffee, and becomes just another bar on H?

inked said...

I really doubt that ANYONE who has been there would take that bet.

Inked - I assume you mean that SOVA will definately drop coffee and become just another bar, although it's possible that you meant the opposite. Could you clarify? Also, has anyone been to SOVA yet? Does it have any qualities that particularly recommend it?

Sorry. I meant that you've got to be kidding if you think SOVA is going to convert to a bar. As for good qualities, the coffee is terrific, as is the space.

Hey all,

I'm not open for business yet, but yes, I will be providing space for the Wells event on Thursday morning. I'll be giving away espresso based drinks (espresso, latte's, & cappuccino's only) again to those who are in attendance for the meeting, so, no to-go cups.

Just to update you on an actual opening date. I went through all my inspections (6 total) with the DC Govt., so I'm just awaiting actual certification docs. I really hope to be open some time in the next week. I'll be sure to let you all know.

I really do appreciate your interest, your support, and your patience. This whole process has taken much longer than I ever expected, so I understand the neighborhoods sentiments through all this.

Also, the website for SOVA shoud be launched in the next week or so as well. There will be plenty of social networking and community type forums on the site, and then plenty of room to tell us what you like and don't like about SOVA.

Frank Hankins, Owner of SOVA

Great new Frank! And since the website will have a forum that means it is a great idea to post all your comments directly on that site. Feel free to post here as well, just make sure that you are cross posting.

Poo Poo,
I'm not special. I just tried the coffee during the festival. I went with a friend and we both agreed that the coffee was very good.

oh, duh.

ok, i rescind the comment. :o)

anyway, i sorta, kinda trust your points of view anyway.

cuz...... so far, you've been better than good with this blog.

(you don't need your friend to back up your opinion of SOVA as far as i'm concerned.)
