ANC5B Introduces Google Group
It's new, so there are not really any posts yet, but you can still join the group and ask questions, let Commissioners know of any concerns, ect. We're excited about this because this listserv should facilitate easier communication for the entire ANC. Follow the link to join the ANC 5B group.

Cool. I registered http://ANC-5B.org a couple of months back hoping to have time to make a web site for it. Since I haven't done that, I forwarded that domain name to this Google group's home page for now.

didnt know where else to post but since im pretty sure the old school by the cole rec center falls in the area served by this new listserv, i thought i'd ask. Does anyone know what construction/work is in the plans for the old school as they've put up fencing around the whole property (not to mention the BOATLOAD of rat traps).

Hi Scott,
a total renovation of the school is underway. The older buildings will be preserved. The newer building (1960s) will be demolished). The new plans are fairly ambitious. They call not only for a total renovation, but also the construction of a new state of the art (whatever that means) fieldhouse including a library with multimedia centers and a performance space. There will also be some community space. There are some shortcomings (no green roof), but some important considerations (separate bathrooms for younger kids, and lots of technology upgrades).
Thank you for the Google group. I have registered as a relatively new (moved in June) resident of your district.
I hope to come to some of the meetings, but with two small kids who have a bedtime of 7pm, it's hard.
