In Hibernation

The farmers market on H Street has ended for the year, but will return late next spring. You can visit many of the merchants at the Dupont winter market on Sundays.

Hey, speaking of fresh produce:

Anyone know of any CSAs that deliver locally? All the ones I have read about are pickup only, and if I'm going to Eastern Market or Dupont anyway, I might as well pick up my farm-fresh produce there...

And more generally, does anyone love the CSA they belong to and want to recommend it (delivery or pickup)?

Also, can anyone report on the H St Coop fundraiser at Sidamo? I couldn't make it, but wanted to know what otehrs thought...

A closer alternative is the Bloomingdale Farmers Market on R and 1st NW. An easy bike ride if it isn't too cold and they have some great vendors. It's open 3 more weeks on Sundays from 10-2pm. Make sure you get there before 10 so you can hear the bell ringing as the market opens. And grab a coffee from Big Bear next to the market.

i've used www.washingtonsgreengrocer.com/ and love them.. i had them deliver to my work address as a lonely box on my doorstep for 5 hours would be too tempting for the neighborhood people who sit outside all day and watch the air across the street from my house.
