6A ABL Committee Mtg Tonight
Just a reminder about tonight's 6A ABL Committee from 7-9 at the Sherwood Rec. Center (10th & G). The primary topic of conversation will be a theoretical cap on CT & CN (tavern and nightclub) licenses on H Street.

Inked -- have you been to New York Liquors (across from Argonaut) lately?
I guess a new owner bought it this summer, and has upgraded the selection considerably. Whereas MGD was literally the best thing there previously, they now have Blue Moon, Stella, and several others.
There is also now a small wine selection. Many cheap Australian numbers, but also a couple Californias priced as high as $20. And they're not behind bulletproof glass!
It's still a fairly unwelcoming place. But it seems like the owner is trying to change with the neighborhood and serve all clienteles. Worthy of support/encouragement, I'd say.
Nate, I think I've only been in that place once altogether, so I haven't noticed any change. I did recently find myself in Rose's Liquor buying some beer with friends. That was a strange experience. They have the cheapest crap around (and some stuff I'd never seen before) and a good beer selection right next to it (tough they do sell singles, so if you grab a six-pack, make sure it really is a six-pack). Not recommended for the faint of heart as the crowd can be a bit rowdy.
