Citi Pizza has a new sign that reads "New Citipizza", Coming soon. This is the return of excellent pizza on Hst NE.

Where is Citipizza?

inked said...

On the north side of the 500 block of H Street.

Question? Why do you think Citipizza is "excellent?" Compared to what? i think i would rather have Pizza Hut than the Pizza Boli's Knockoff.

good pizza can be had at Capital Pizza on W Virgina and Florida. Don't know the delivery area cause I live a block away, but they have some damn good 'za for DC.

Oh, and I can't wait for the opening of NAPA!

Hey, I thought these comments should be about Napa 1015 not Citipizza (which I thought was bad pizza)..
We went to 1015 tonight and had a great meal. I am glad that there is finally a nice sitdown place here on H St NE. Everything we had was very tasteful without one flavor over powering another. 2 thumbs up to Chef Ron....do NOT hesitate to head to Napa 1015 for a delicious meal...

I'm planning a date for Sat, to celebrate the guy being finished with the semester. Is Napa 1015 a good date location? Can we get more of a descrip/review, please? (Not necessarily from inked, tho I'm sure she's dying to check it out, but from people who go over the course of this week...)

I stopped by Napa 1015 last night. I really liked the atmosphere but the food was just okay. I have to say I was shocked at the prices... $30 for crab cakes and $34 for beef seems excessive on H Street (or really many places in DC).

After reading that Napa would be food with a French touch, I was hoping it'd be similar to Montmartre in SE. But the food wasn't nearly as good and the prices were twice as much. I'd like to go back again in a few months but I hope they become more realistic about their prices. There are several places in DC where you can get an excellent entree for $20-$25. Charging over that needs to be perfection.

I went last night and I really enjoyed it. It's a really nice cafe with dimmed lighting, paintings on the walls, and candles on the table. They are two rooms. The back room appeared brighter and it had a bar.

Our food was very, very good. The menu is suppose to change daily. However, I wouldn't mind having that Rosemary chicken again. I think it it would be a great place to celebrate something special. I hope that they do well.

Wow, are you serious on the $30 entrees? WTF?! I think the bar and restaurant owners need to seriously rethink their prices. The vast majority of bars and clubs on H street have the same drink prices as those in NW. Take Jimmy Valentines for example. $6-7 for a import bottle. Yeah, nice markup, but if I wanted to pay those prices I would goto NW, take metro and not have to worry about such a sketchy area. Frankly, the high prices at all the venues on H street keep me from going out alot more than I otherwise would.

We stopped by there last night to have food. The price wasn't really bad considering we shared one appertizer and one entre. They were very nice and split the entre for us without us asking. The prices on food on the high side but I think the ingredients are pretty good for it. Prices on wine however, are reasonable. One thing though, the food has a very "catered" look, which I hope they will fix so you don't feel like you're just at a wedding dinner. The space is pretty and good for date.

I believe they should reduce their prices and the portion sizes by 50% Seriously why do we judge the restaurants by the amount of food rather than the quality? I have heard endless number of times where people complain about the food portion size. No wonder everyone is getting obese!! You do not need to eat a full plate just go to Europe and see what I mean.

I went last night to NAPA. It was really nice-I had the crabcakes which were good and I agree it is a nice place for a date. I also heard the soups were really good. I thought the prices were too high though-for H street and DC. I get the idea the owner is still trying to work to get the best prices and best menu so it might be good to give feedback in some way to the owner. I think it will be good to support them since we want to encourage future restaurants to come in the area.

definitely a nice place (very nice decor and atmosphere), but i agree that the prices are too high for what you're getting food quality wise.

Took the girlfriend to NAPA 1015 last night and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was romantic, the owner, bartender and cook were friendly and filled with information about their plans... To start, the crab and artichoke crostini was very good and had enough crabmeat to feed 2 – 3 people. I had a chicken breast stuffed with prosciutto and cheese and my gf had the pasta with mushrooms, leeks and goat cheese and both entrees were fabulous and generously proportioned. However, the chocolate mousse cake for dessert was incredible, the best cake I've ever had... Wine prices were very reasonable and while the entrée prices seem to be expensive ($22 - $32 per entrée) I feel that the meal was quite inexpensive. My total bill before a tip was only $92 and that included 1 bottle of wine ($25), 1 appetizer ($11), 2 entrée’s ($48) and 1 dessert ($8). If we went to Dr Granville’s and had 2 Belgian beers each ($34), an appetizer ($7ish), mussels ($14) and fries ($5), a burger ($11ish) and a dessert ($8ish) I doubt the bill would have been noticeably less; I will definitely go back! If our neighborhood supports this restaurant I think it could be the anchor H Street needs to attract quality restaurants and retail.

If things work out the owners plan to open a second floor and an outdoor dining area and bar… This place is the real deal!!

Went to Napa 1015 last night. I second the comment about not being any more expensive than Granville's, and a lot more fulfilling. The food we had was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasant -- the waitstaff and owner are very attentive and freely offered measured opinions on what would go ood with what, etc. For 3 people (2 apps, 3 entrees, desert, bottle of wine), it was less expensive than most similarly affected restaurants in NW. To be fair, I would have preferred larger portions, I ended up eating most of the giff's chicken.

Less abou the cost, I think, Napa 1015 is trying to offer a differnt sort of experience than H St. primarily does. You can get cheap burgers at Argonaut if you want, and cheap beers at Pug or PoW, but before Napa, there was literally nowhere on H St where i would take a 3rd date, or celebrate an anniversary, or take my parents out for a birthday (etc). It's not in competition with the music vens and dives on H, it's simply offering an alternative for those occasions which merit, and I think H St. NE is richer overall for having it.

And the chocolate mouse is fantastic.
