For those of you not inclined to make your own, we now have a decent delivery option right here on H Street. New Citipizza is located in the 504 H Street, and their phone number is 202-544-6292 . I believe they do delivery, or pick-up. I'm not totally sure about the pick-up thing. I used to order from the original Citipizza, and it was always a good local option that showed up in a timely manner and took credit cards.

Unfortunately that is the old phone number for the original Citipizza, and it's been disconnected.
pizza sure DOES look good in your photo
i make my own pizza as well, but if i'm ever feeling too drained to cook or lacking some ingredients, i will hit them up!
Mmmmmmmmmmm, I loved that place. But the picture you have there looks a bit nicer than I remember theirs being.

Cool. Yes Rob, that is an old homemade pizza photo of mine.
I've already been today--saw that they were open & couldn't wait, so I stopped in then & there.
They are running take-out specials to herald their re-opening, and the pizza is every bit as good as it used to be! I got a meat lover's. Mmm... Pepperoni is a vegetable, right?

Citipizza was always my favorite delivery option, so I'm glad to see they are back. But what is up with that weird banner they have hanging in front of their storefront? The sentence at the bottom makes absolutely no sense.
What does the banner say?
What's "new" about the New Citipizza? Ownership? Menu? Signage?
Just curious.
New CitiPizza is under the same management.
The sentence at the bottom of their temporary signage reads "Vesa Bay Pizza Salay".
New sign, new phone number, newly opened.
hstrez has it right. The sign reads "Vesa Bay Pizza Salay". Or maybe it's Vessay Bay Pizza Salay. Either way, I have no idea what it means, but if the pizza is as good as it was before, I look forward to getting a pie.
On the subject of unheralded H Street eateries, my wife and I have become absolutely addicted to Naby's Island. If more people knew how good the food is there, that place would be packed every night.
Just picked up a large half mushroom and half pepperoni ($8.35 for the carryout special, including tax). Nothing I'd travel across town for, but I'm very happy to have it in the neighborhood. The crust was especially nice; I think it is noticably better than it was before.
I would agree with "npm" It was good enough, but I will definately be going back and hope they do well. Also noticed it was VERY clean behind the counter which I think is also important!

We ordered a pizza from them tonight. It didn't disappoint. Mmmmm.
Hmm. Could anyone speak to whether it's more or less pukelicious than New York Pizza on Penn?
I'd like to try a new delivery joint--I've been ordering from Al's, and I'm not sure how much longer my luck (i.e. vaccinations) will hold out.
If we could just get Astor's (of Adams Morgan) to open an H St branch...
Though they're closed on Sundays and only deliver after 6, I'd suggest that folks looking for decent delivery in the area check out Bistro Italiano on 4th and D NE. I don't know exactly what they're delivery area is, but I'm between 14th and 15th, just south of H and they come to my house. Don't know if they go to Trinidad. Just a suggestion - I always preferred it to Citi Pizza.
I rarely opt for pizza delivery, but I ended up ordering a Citipizza veggie with a friend. It isn't the best pizza in the world, but I like it better than Nationals, and some of the other stuff I've had. You get plenty of cheese and toppings, but the pizza isn't super greasy. The crust is pretty thin, but mine had a slight crisp, and wasn't soggy. They use a pretty tomato flavor intense sauce, and I think overall their pizza is pretty good for a non-gourmet delivery place.
ugh this place is N-A-S-T-Y -- i don't know why you're all so excited. many other places on H are trying to take a step up in class (i.e. SOVA) and i hate to see it brought back down with this place. why celebrate another low-quality-roach-infested dive ...
After grabbing some late night pizza, the translation from CitiPizza is "Vesa Bay Pizza Salay" is a slice is $1.25.
I'll leave it to y'all to figure out if that translates or is a language I do not speak.
Though I am not a linuguist, I believe this is an Indian (Punjabi?) dialect.
Though you should take this with a nanoscopic grain of salt.
Anonymous on Jan 28 asked why anyone would be excited about "another low-quality-roach-infested dive" when other places are going higher-class on H. I think first, that it doesn't sound like this place is a roach infested dive, but rather a cleaned-up version of what it always was--a take-out place. Other people have commented how clean it is. Second, I'm all for a mix of options on H Street. I don't really want EVERYTHING to be upscale.
I'd rather have a range of restaurant options that includes upscale sit-down, affordable sit-down, and yes, some take-out. It's very space-efficient for smaller buildings that don't have room for tables anyway. It allows those spots to serve up options we might not have otherwise.
That said, I don't want bad food, so I plan to try their pizza tonight and see for myself! And we can always suggest ways to make the pizza better, like offering more "gourmet" or fresh toppings.
