So, so ridiculous. I mean, that this even exists. I guess it makes more sense than a pet spa, but that's not saying much. For the corridor's sake, I hope it thrives. But damn. That's silly.

Does anyone know the hours of Nouveau Fleur? Thinking about picking up some flowers for the ladybird after work, but not sure if I can make it in before they close...

Mas--I think they close at 5:30. But if you call, Debbie would wait for you.

c'mon, it's not that bad. it's sort of like a whole foods clothing shop for kids.

BTW, how come there aren't any white babies on the website? do white folks need a fake id for there kids to get in and buy stuff?

i thought i was over making fake id's in college...

the pix on the website are not very............ inclusive.

Don't be a dope, but I guess that's too much to ask for.

Granted, the name is a bit much, but it actually looks like they have a lot of nice clothes for kids. I, for one, will hold off judgment until I have had a chance to head up there with my tyke and check it out.

I'll be interested to see how the price point compares to "Bougie Baby" aka Dawn Price Baby on the other side of the Hill at Eastern Market.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but this article seems worthy of a mention. Great news for the neighborhood:

Read the whole article -- it's not only Williams, it's also Sheila Crump Johnson.

Kerry, I think it's WORSE than a pet spa. Pets won't car about being included or not. Kids WILL notice that it's a place for rich kids only. It if were April 1st, I'd be sue this was a joke. It seems a bit crazy to put a luxury store in the middle of a post- burned out ghetto, with many boarded up buildings on the same block.

Why do any of you care about this? If you don't like it, don't go. It is just like South Park or Rush Limbaugh or Pacifica. Don't like it? Don't tune in!!!!

who cares what color the kids are?! they're probably the owner's daughters or nieces. why don't you or mrs. poo squeeze out poo jr. and demand that they put the little tyke's photo on their website??

all the latent racial tension in this blog's comment sections is getting pretty pathetic.

There's a nice article about the store in Voice of the Hill. It sounds like a charming shop. My child is grown and I was trained to shop in the suburbs(because there was nothing in DC), but I would like to check it out anyway.

I was quite shocked to see this referred to as a luxury store. I'm quite thrilled that someone had the chutzpah to open this original concept on H Street(it would not be thought of as unusual in many other cities...with emerging areas). And to those who have never had little girls....painting fingers and toenails is the thing for a certain stage.
