Trinidad-Ivy City Garden Club Events

P1010118
Join Garden Club members this Sunday, May 4th starting at 9am [latecomers begrudgingly welcomed] at the intersection of Montello and Morse. Well be cleaning up our treeboxes and doing a general clean-up of the area, as well as discussing planting plans. Attendees are asked to bring a bottle of water that they will be able to refill, relevant tools [rakes, brooms, shovels, clippers, perhaps a saw, or two, ect.], gloves [some will be provided], and any spare trashbags you have lying about. I'd also suggest bring a few bucks in case anyone makes a coffee run to SOVA.
P1010157
Then we'll do an actual planting the next Sunday, May 11th. Not sure on the time yet for that one, but the location is the same.

P1010127
Children are welcome.

I love this idea. I moved to H Street last year and one day I came home and was SUPER suprised to see fresh planters boxes and a CLEAN street. Only problem is people tore it up with in teh next week and the street was littered with everything from chip bags to syringes.

Does anyone have an idea how to keep it clean? Maybe signs stating "street us under video survelence and individuals who litter will be fined"

Just an idea?

Also if I was in town I would be there, brobably late but would def chip in

This is a FANTASTIC idea. Holbrook Terrace will also have a beautification day in June, could we discuss ideas? sandykromero@yaoo.com

1126 Montello will brew some coffee and have some orange juice, while supplies last.

See you there.

Off topic...

I over heard two guys talking about their premit process in front of 1116 H Street. When I inquired they said they are opening up a Gourmet Italian Deli and Market that does delivery. The space looked cool when I peaked in. Could be a great addition!

This sounds like SO much fun and such a great way to meet some of the folks in the neighborhood. Won't be able to make it this particular weekend, but as always Frozen Tropics always provides plenty of opportunities to get out there and BE ABOUT IT.
