H Street Heritage Trail Needs a Name

The H Street NE Heritage Trail Working Group will meet Tuesday, June 10, at 7 pm at the Atlas Performing Arts Center (1331 H Street, NE) to vote on a title for the trail, among other business. This will be the last meeting before the group submits its application to the Washington, DC Neighborhood Heritage Trails Program. Current and former residents of the H Street neighborhood, and other interested parties, are encouraged to weigh in on title ideas by attending the meeting or contacting Mara Cherkasky at 202-661-7581 or mcherkasky@culturaltourismdc.org. The program is a project of Cultural Tourism DC in collaboration with the District Department of Transportation, Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, U.S. Department of Transportation, and community associations and local business groups. Cultural Tourism DC initiated the program with two goals in mind: helping visitors find their way around Washington’s historic neighborhoods and promoting community pride.
