SOVA is looking to hire Barista's for the early morning/opening shift from 8am - noon, in addition to the closing shift from 9pm - close/midnight. This is specifically for certain weekdays right now, but weekend shifts will become available very soon.

FYI, while you're waiting for the Harris Teeter to open at New York Avenue, the Potomac Avenue Metro Teeter opened for business last week. MUCH better shopping experience than the Safeway. Check it out to see what you have in store.
Ditto, I never have to go to Safeway again and the mix is such that I will not have to drive to Whole Foods as often. I am thrilled!!!!
Is there parking at that Harris Teeter? I seem to remember that they were going to put under-building parking in, but I'm not sure.
Yes, there is quite a bit of FREE underground parking. I rolled in over the weekend and thought I died and went to supermarket heaven. It beats the ghetto Safeway by light years and I don't have to truck to Whole Foods every weekend to get the essentials.
Buying things at the harris teeter is also a good way to tell Trader Joes and Whole Foods to suck it for not investing in our area.

I couldn't agree more!! I'm so happy to not have to go to the atrocious Safeways in our area.
No more crossing 14th Street Bridge to get my HT fix. It really is a great store. I find myself searching the house for things I might need from the grocery store. Despite the free parking, I'd suggest biking over. It's a fairly flat ride and you pass through some really scenic areas near Lincoln Park. Plenty of places out front to lock your vehicle. Enjoy !
I was surprised there wasn't more chatter about the Harris Teeter on FT before today. At least in terms of impact on my life, it's probably the most important development on Capital Hill since I moved here 3+ years ago. It's a place I'll be shopping at least once a week. I'll save money by going to Whole Foods less often, save time by not having to drive to the Harris Teeter in Pentagon City, and save aggravation by not having to put up with the subpar service/selection at the local Safeway. Also, I think the importance of a good grocery store for neighborhood development cannot be overstated. I'm still hopeful we can get a Trader Joe's as well - the success of the Harris Teeter will only make the area look more attractive to other retailers.

It's on the corner of 14th SE and Pennsylvania. Entrance is on 14th. It's the bottom floor of Jenkins ROw condos, which you can't miss.
