The Northeast Senior Singers Chorale, now in its sixth season, is
composed of 21 older adults -- the oldest is 98 -- living at Delta
Towers Apartments and the broader H Street Corridor. The group
regularly performs in the H Street Corridor and at the Levine
School's NW Campus. The singers have also performed on Capitol Hill
with Dr. Ysaye Barnwell of Sweet Honey in the Rock in an effort to
raise awareness for the need to fund arts programs for older
Americans. The group is led by the renowned director Charles Williams
and is accompanied by pianist Michael Terry, both faculty members of
the Levine School of Music. The concert will feature a diverse
selection of international folk songs, spirituals, art songs,
gospels, plus an arrangement of Amen by Terry.
