Stella Bleu Closes Up Shop

IMG_0531
The H Street boutique and salon Stella Bleu appears to have closed its doors. The floor shop is now vacant with a for lease sign posted. I'm assuming that the second floor salon is also closing, but I could be mistaken, as I did not see a sign advertising the second floor space. Stella Bleu was located at 1208 H Street.

=====================
UPDATE

It sounds like the salon is still open and operating. Only the store is closed.

This is unfortunate, but I'm not really surprised. She was ahead of her time! I wish her the best with whatever is next in her life.

I would agree she was ahead of her time. The typical order for renewal of a commerical area goes something like, bars first, maybe a nightclub, then some (non-take out) places to eat, then funky retail, and then more mainstream retail and dining. Stella Bleu beat pretty much everyone out of the gate. I'm glad she gave it a go on H street, and I hope this is just a bump on an otherwise upward trend for commercial options in the area.

the store had the most inviting visual look of all the clothing stores on h. too bad she didn't appear to have anything for guys or i might have gone in and been able to patronize. i wish the owner the best of luck. this is the second cool fashion place h has lost since i've been here. there was a cool looking shoe place near where pap and petey's is now.

I shopped at Stella Bleu a month or two ago, and had heard about the store closing so I asked about it. They are not planning on closing the salon (last I heard). Agreed that the retail was before its time.
