I went to Sticky Rice at 7:00pm on Friday the 13th. The place had a really cool vibe. The hostess told us that there would be a 30 minute wait. We sat at the bar and had a drink. By the time we were finished with our drink we were sat at a table. Our waiter Tony was great, our food was good and delivered in a timely manner. We spoke with the manager/owner Jason who is really cool and excited about H st NE.
On the way home we stopped at club 12. No complaints here again. The staff was nice and friendly. I will be back.
I gave Sticky Rice another chance on Friday too and had a good experience. The wait was 45 minutes, but they took my number and we waited/drank at Granville's until they called. I loved that! We sat upstairs where it was a lot hotter, but the cold pear saki cooled it down. This second experience was a lot better. Probably because it was late (almost 9pm) and we didn't sit at the bar.
Much better experience last night. We ordered tots and noodle dishes, and both came out in a reasonable time. We went around 6:30, so it's not conclusive. I hope to get decent enough service when ordering sushi on a weekend night.

We arrived at Sticky Rice at 7:45pm on a Thursday night and found ourselves faced with an hour wait! On H Street NE! What is this world coming to?
I love it.
The waits to be seated are kind of cool in a way. The wait for food that everyone seems to be experiencing once seated...not so much.
