Stolen Trailer
The trailer in the image above is almost identical to the one that was stolen from our back yard last night between 8pm and 8am. It was covered by a tarp and parked behind our porch at the top of a steep hill. Because it was under cover and so difficult to get to, I think someone in the neighborhood saw me using it and decided to take it. The trailer is made by Burley. It is a two-wheeled bike trailer with an aluminum hitch; purple and yellow on top and black on the bottom. The child harnesses have been removed and there are some small scrapes and tears on the left side. If you see it in the Trinidad or H Street neighborhoods, please contact me!
Thanks,
Megan

It looks sorta like a Smart Car! It's a good reminder that if someone tries to sell you something on the street, it's most likely stolen. Unless the thief is such a good parent that s/he wants to take his or her baby for a ride!
I'd recommend checking out pawn shops in a week or so.
I saw the stroller parked outside Studio 400 last night around 11 pm. It was covered in go go stickers and some kid looked prepared to light it on fire. You lost.
rmrhuplthat's it, i'm calling fenty and the cops on studio 400! i tried to believe they were just folks that were interested in making our neighborhood a better place and not just wasting time and money on self gratifying activities, but this is the tipping point.
i'm even going to get some undercover cops to investigate the cops that everyone claims hang out there.
by god, this place will be shut down!
Thanks for the laugh today anon 1:12. It's not a laughing matter, but your post was funny.
Inked-- thanks so much for posting this!
Tom-- Thanks for the suggestion about pawn shops. I use--or used--the trailer at least once a week to haul groceries, gardening supplies and my dog (sometimes all at once), so it's not quite the disaster that it would be if I needed it for my child, but still a huge loss to me.
Anon. 1:12-- I'd laugh a little more at your joke, but I'll admit to feeling especially stung by this particular incident. I can't imagine that the person who took it actually intends to, or can, use it. I can only imagine that they took it for money or just to be an a**hole.
Everyone-- I'd be so grateful if you'd keep your eyes peeled! I can't really afford to replace the trailer at this point in my life.
Megan, do yuo know about freecycle? It's a yahoo listserv where people "recycle" their old unneeded "stuff It's a great idea. You can even ask for stuff!
Garvey and I will be keeping our eyes peeled and I am sure he will rip to shreds the evil-doer who took his boy Linus' trailer. Seriously though, I'm on the lookout. Here's hoping it turns up soon.
