Anon 908, using your rationale you ought to be pushing for eminent domain for all of Holbrook Street. I think it had five murders this year. I don't believe the Florida Market had any. Plus, I don't really get why you are using quote marks when you aren't actually quoting, or even paraphrasing, anyone. That last one is just a really bad straw man argument.
Statistics over the past year don't subtanciate any assertion that the area is ridden with violent crime. No local houses means no local crews. No foot traffic means no wallets.
Read the Office of Planning study and you will see that "expanding development of NE" isn't financially worthwhile. We have enough office/residential mixed use projects. NoMa can't even fill its buildings!
