DCist sneaks a peak inside the Country Club. I was in there the other day, and I can confirm that they are close on the construction. The kitchen is nearly complete, and the space looks pretty cool. Let's hope for an opening soon. I'm thinking something in spring.
If you want to see a walkthrough, you can catch some YouTube videos [check the dates] on the interior.

Finally some info. on this place!!!
Skeeball is flat out a stroke of genius. Anybody who grew up taking vacations on the Jersey shore or Maryland would come just for the skeeball (myself included). Lets hope you can collect tickets to be traded in for a pencil eraser or gumballs.
Skeeball with minigolf easily makes this place my favorite spot on H St. (sorry Taylor) and it hasn't even opened yet. As a minigolf purist, I sincerely hope that Joe makes the course challenging (i.e., traps, multiple levels, perhaps even some water hazards?). Keep the straight lines and right angles at a minimum!
Heres hoping Joe eventually expands to 18 holes by putting 9 more on the roofdeck! How awesome would that be come summertime??
Cannot wait for this place to open. Please hurry!!!
Anybody know how to contact the owner of the place? I'm dying to know if they'll have a Golden Tee Live arcade game there. I'm sick of going all the way over to chi town to play!
Golden Tee would be cool. Maybe a few other "classics" as well. And pinball, for sure!
This place is going to be so popular, so fast.
I'm worried about not being able to get a tee time!
I hope they open early enough each day to let us get some mini-golf in before the drunken masses arrive.
Agreed. I think they should set up a driving range on the roof. For $5.50 a bucket, patrons could shoot golf balls out into the Trinidad neighborhood while waiting for a tee time.
I've been pleading for skeeball since this place was announced...very glad it's included.
I saw the inside of Pap & Peetey's today. A guy named Shawn (I believe) showed me around. Looks real nice and there will be big screens to watch games on. He said open probably in about 2 weeks. They're also going to be working on the upstairs.
Sorry to take this off topic.
What happened to the singles ban on the western part of H Street?
It was approved, but I haven't heard anything about the implementation.
What is the deal?
when i told somebody a mini-golf place was coming to h street, they looked dumbfounded. i can barely believe it's true myself! i'm officially excited now that it looks close to completion!

I just can't picture playing mini-golf inside an eating establishment, but I'll keep an open mind. Maybe I'm just an old fart, but I find it hard to beleive that this place is going to hold much appeal to anyone over 30.
It will do well, but I guarantee it won't be open until July.
how often do you see people over 30 hanging out at bars on H ST anyways?
This place is going to be a huge hit. Folks from ALL over DC will be coming over to H street for this place
Hey now---As a 30 year old who goes to H Street Bars, part of me really wants to take umbrage with that statement...then the other part of me just wants to go home and go to sleep because you damn kids are being too loud...
lol. Well if you're 30 on the nose I guess you're okay. When you say over 30 I think 35ish
There are quite a few of us 30 somethings (I'm 32) that still go out pretty frequently. Just can't do it every night. :) Places like Argonaut and The Pug get a pretty diverse range of ages but places like R&R Hotel do skew younger. Can't wait for mini-golf!
I can confirm that many H Street bars have many over 30 patrons [including regulars].
"I find it hard to beleive that this place is going to hold much appeal to anyone over 30."
Are you for real? This place is going to be full of old farts left and right
As an elderly yet regular H street patron, pushing 40 actually, I can assure you that we old people do get out...not as often as 20 somethings of course, kids and Tivo do take their toll.
And the Country Club is going to definitely draw families...Mexican food and minigolf?
I hope they do birthday parties.
i'd actually be surprised in people under 30 cared about minigolf or skeeball.
i went to the jersey shore every summer as a kid. those rooftop mini golf course on the boardwalk freakin kicked.
i'd also got to a bar that had bocce too. or go-carts.
The place is now open, wow... fun games, good food and great sangria !
