There is now a blog discussing the H Street-Benning Road Streetcar Alliance and the progress towards a streetcar in our corridor. Check it out.

What are the chances we'll get an exception/exemption to overground wires law to run the streetcars? Isn't this something Councilman Wells should be working on now BEFORE the streetcars get ready to go in?

I dont know, I dont have much hope of us getting streetcars on H street in my lifetime.

Streetcars can happen within your lifetime unless you have a date with your maker in the next five years. If you get involved and demonstrate to city leaders that this is a priority then it's possible it could happen sooner.

I don't understand the deal with the overground wires law and street cars in the original L'Enfant city. There are plenty of overhead wires over the tracks leading to Union Station and those are in the L'Enfant city. Does anyone have an answer?

Sorry, what are those overhead wires along H street right now??? Aren't those for the street cars? They have giant boxes on them in several spots, I thought those were red and green X's for traffic. Is that not right?

Just an FYI, the corner of 8th and L is now a four-way stop sign. There is no "new stop ahead" sign, nor have they delineated any of the stop signs as being "four way" or "all way" stop signs. So pay attention at that intersection!
