Check out this cool video on DC Greenworks and their plans to build 11 green roofs on commercial properties on H Street.

I've seen a DC Green Works truck curising around H Street lately with a couple of trees in the back. Probably not for the green roofs, but it's nice to see their prescence in the hood. This is exciting stuff let's hope that they get a couple of these roofs completed quckly and they're greeted with lots of fanfare and the roofs are open to the public.
Being featured on the White House Blog with Van Jones ( who is credited with coining "green collar jobs" )is sort of a big deal! Who know's, maybe they could get connected with DDOT or WASA and perhaps do some other types of innovative greening projects like a green alley or innovative street project for storm water management as part of the street scape and improvements to H and Benning Road.
I won't hold my breath especially with these street projects being "fast tracked". Just a thought.

Cool! This is exactly what DC needs.
Fanfare, and green roofs.
