A look at what's going on in Trinidad, on H Street, and in the larger area north of Capitol Hill.

Plenty of Progress at Angelico's
If you walked by the former Sun and Moon building at 14th and H at all recently you, no doubt, noticed the large amount of work progressing quickly at the site. There is still a tremendous amount of work left to be done, but the progress is a reminder that one day a pizzaria will grace the space.

It's hard to imagine being any more excited about this than i am.
Does anyone know what's happening to the building on the NW corner of H & 10th? This is the building with the Million Man March mural on the side. It's being completely gutted.
it's a damn shame that they're not putting in windows that are made to fit the window holes that are already there. if they're just looking for off-the-shelf solutions for everything, it kind of bodes for a level of cheapness in the refit.
My guess (hope) is that there is enough space left over those windows for transoms. Alternatively, since it's stucco instead of brick on that exterior wall, if it's patched right it would fit in as if it was always that way.
I agree those vnyl replacment windows suggest a kind of roughshoud restoration treament to that cool old building. Of course just about anything is better than it's previous state. I'm suprise they didn't tear it down and put up a new vnyl or stucco box Still, i thought there was some type of standard for a commercal building of this type for metal clad windows. I guess H Street should be happy for whatever it can get. Where's Richard Layman?
The building on 10th and H is going to be a phone store?? What is "Cricket"?? What a waste of the space. Hopefully it'll fail and something interesting will go in there.
Cheap looking with the windows that don't fit...no wonder they're moving fast! And I'm not sure that I'd use 2x4's for ceiling beams (even drywall may sag those). I really hope they saved the "Advants Auto Care" (pronounced "advanced") sign from the garage. It had a lot of character, and the shop's auto repair work was really good.
anyone have any idea what's going in next to Granville Moore's? There is an empty lot with a sign that says something like "another beautiful project by..."

That place has been an eyesore for way too long.
I'm excited too. It is going to be such a huge improvement having a nice looking corner lot building on that block.

Does anyone know what is going on next to Hillman's barbershop on H Street between 11th and 12th street.
This is such a waste of a space,"This Cricket Phone" as if we need another phone store, barber shop,or fast food.....
The Sprint store already failed. I wonder what makes Cricket think they can do better. Phone stores belong downtown, not in the hood.
