Takedown in 1000 Blk of 4th Street?

I received a report of large turn out of federal enforcement agencies including: US Marshals, DEA, ATF and DCIS. Apparently they arrive in 6 or 7 black SUVs, and a helicopter was also involved. This took place around 12:30pm today.

Didnt know what DCIS was. Apparently it is DoD. Sounds like more than a drug raid or something. Arms dealer? Cyber or other terror? I'm done speculating. No Jack Bauer?

I saw the FBI there as well.

Defense Criminal Investigative Service

I first thought it was Immigration service, but the website says it is about fighting terrorism.

while anything is possible, DCIS basically the Defense Department Office of the Inspector General. They are generally involved in fraud investigations by government contractors. Seems like an odd player in a multi-gov't task force in Trinidad.

Just to be clear, the 1000 block of 4th street is DEFINITELY not Trinidad. All seems quiet here today :-)

Eckington. Though, I'm sure somewhere, someone is lobbying for NoFlo.

Here is an unofficial map of DC neighborhoods. Note the Atlas District...

i think it's called capitol hill north - at least that's our neighborhood association's name.

Based on that map, it's Atlas District. If you are talking about the "wedge" between Florida and H Street running from 1st through 14th NE. Eckington is across NY heading into Columbia Heights so it's not NE.

Looking at the Map that was threaded,I think the area is called NOMA,or is that for the new buildings that is being built in the area. The property that I'm intrested in,is in the 1100 block of 5th street.Any information is greatly appreciated.

That are would include Near Northeast (the western portion of the slice that you describe). It's all part of Old City number 1. You can try for the H Street Corridor.

Anon 8:15, none of what was described occurred in Trinidad, or even very near it.

Man, that sure is one confusing city if no one can figure out the name of an area so specifically identified ... no one knows north from south or right from left ... oops.

SoFlo (South of Florida) is the kind of ironic hipster name, but means exactly that area (triangle made by Florida, H and the tracks).

Historically it WAS once called "Capital Hill North" although now people will think it real-estate speak. I think it kind of works.

NOMA crosses over the tracks on the west side of the area a block or two, but it is not NOMA.

Near Northeast is what the old timers call it. Near Northeast is not clearly defined in my head though.

I just call it north side of the H-Street Corridor.

It is definitely NOT Eckington!!

Has anyone heard why the MIBs conducted the raid?
