Girls Stab Subway Employee @8th & H

Apparently they got upset when the employee told them they couldn't eat McDonald's food at Subway. No word on the employee's status. He was stabbed in the abdomen. The girls tossed the knife as they left the scene so I'd assume we might be able to get a print match when and if they are caught. Super classy.

"Mr. Rappaport, tear down this mall!"

I'm sure if and when they are eventually apprehended there will be all sorts of interviews and quotes extolling the virtues that these young ladies have and how they are good children that have done no wrong... it's all part of the "negative characterization" of the neighborhood.

Personally I think the parents - once identified - should be held accountable. Of course, chances are they're already felons anyway, so no real motivation to change their behavior or ethics and that which they pass on to their children.

No, tom, not cute or funny.

*on my way to drop off of my dry cleaning at smile and to buy a game at gamestop.

this reminds of a story when i was in college, when an off-duty DC cop working security approached me (with his hand resting on the handle of his holstered pistol) to instruct me in a rather serious tone that i could not eat the taco bell i had brought in from across the street to eat with my friends, who were there having mcdonald's. feeling that the hand-on-the-gun indicated the possibility of an unnecessary (and potentially fatal) increase in hostilities, we all left. great times in DC back in the day. gotta love the overreaction.

here's my question about the story...witnesses say the girls and the employee were "fighting". i'm sorry, but (1) i'm not chasing anyone for potato chips (because what will he do when he catches them, wrestle the chips out of their hand?) (2) i'm not fighting a bunch of teenaged girls over a bag of potato chips.

i mean, come on now. let them run off with their chips, file a report, and that's it. it's not his job to track down potato chip thieves.

What kind of potato chips?

soul searcher: I'd just assumed that he followed them outside to chastise them for their bad behavior, and not to actually try to wrestle the chips away or anything like that; and the girls escalated it into fighting. Obviously you have more information than the rest of us do. Can you provide more details?

Good job of blaming the victim yet a again. No wonder you are searching for your soul. What kind of kid just happens to carry a knife around? These sweet little "kids" stabbed a person, not just steal some chips.

If they are indeed teenagers, the chances of them being punished if they are caught are somewhere around 1,000 to 1. No one group is coddled more in DC than criminal teenagers.

wish the video was clearer or there were an image of the suspects, i live in the area and could likely identify them. can't blame the guy for not wanting to put up with their shit, sorry he was hurt in the process, hope he's better now...

More people in our neighborhood need to stand up against the criminals like this man did. I hope the girl gets caught and is put in jail so she won't be able to stab any other legitimate business owners. What an awful person!
